This is the second race in the north American SCORE Desert Series championship and the first of 3 races held at the Baja Peninsula. (further down 2011 are the Baja 500 and the season final the Baja 1000, in 2011 a loop race versus 2011 a peninsula run down to La Paz. Vildosola Racing, with Gustavo Vildósola Sr. and Tavo Vildosola Jr., last years Baja 1000 winner and Bryce Menzies / Menzies Motorsports, victorious at the first race of the Desert Series, the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge are ready for some heat in the Mexican desert.
Beside the 2 Redbull racing teams 26 other Trophy Truck racers aiming at victory at this 25th Mastercraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250. B.J. Baldwin (Monster Energy), Rob MacCachren (Rockstar), Robby Gordon (Speed Energy) are in for the (in-official) energy drink championship. However, former champions and winners like Andy McMillin / Scott McMillin, Roger Norman, Troy Herbst, last years series champion Jesse Jones or 2010 overall winner Armin Schwarz (in a AGM BMW Class 1 Buggy) also aim for victory. As of today, 10.3.2011 28 Trophy Trucks and 20 unlimited open wheel Class 1 Buggies are registered. Total entries: 218 off-road desert racers.
